Jazz Blvd: Niklaus Troxler Posters
Artist: Niklaus Troxler

Niklaus Troxler is currently one of the internationally best known Swiss designers. His posters, closely linked with the Jazz Festival in Willisau, are regarded as outstanding in their pithy impact, symbolic character and expressive force, and are included in major collections. Troxler is a member of a leading group of Swiss graphic designers, now few in number, who enjoyed an international reputation in the past especially for their poster design. The aim of this publication is to present a representative document of the most comprehensive series of jazz posters and to bear witness to the eminence of designer Niklaus Troxler within the tradition of Swiss poster design.

“Looking back, Niklaus Troxler has created fantastic posters – and not only for his great passion jazz. He has produced at least six if not seven outstanding notations which have already gone down in the history of design.? Uwe Loesch
