Sandberg: Graphiste et Directeur Du Stedelijk Museum

Admirers of both Sandberg and of graphic design more generally will be very pleased with this rich survey of the work of this graphic designer and former director of the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Beautifully designed and sympathetically conceived with full page color reproductions of posters, accompanied by a wealth of printed matter in the form of editions and catalogs, the publication also includes photographs documenting Sandberg's exhibition designs. All material is examined chronologically, and accompanied by texts exploring his life and practice. The text is written in French, however, don't let that dissuade you from purchasing. It is a thoroughly stunning visual essay of Sandberg's work.
