The Journal 20

the journal is a unique quarterly publication that links contemporary culture, art, music, skateboarding and snowboarding like no other magazine does. Defining the creative landscape of today, the journal has established itself at the forefront of a significant and growing niche while fast becoming an influential and celebrated publication across media marketplace.

In the journal, in-depth interviews with influential individuals, large inserts from important artists, defining photography and exclusive content come together to form a publication that has no equal. Since its conception, the journal has continued on an organic growth spurt with the support of an ever-discerning, creative and diversified readership. In a world filled with millions of media outlets with unmatched content and tempered quality, the journal is a digest proclaiming only the truly collectible, influential and unforgettable. Speaking to a multitude of different audiences, the journal sets precedent to cross cultural divides.

In this issue: JH Engstrom, Ladyhawk, Jason Nocito, Beirut Lebanon, Kathy Grayson, David Strettell, Nobu Kitamura, Joe Bradley, Bumpin' Nick, Spider Songs and Zines.

Since its founding in 1999 by Michael Nevin, the journal has been a repository for DIY creative culture (both as a zine and as a gallery space since 2004), with a particular bent for skateboard and snowboard culture. The quarterly journal/zine went from saddle stitched to perfect bound--evolving into a full-color magazine that comes coupled with sought-after limited editions by the likes of Dash Snow, Jack Pierson, Will Shine, David Shrigley, and Wolfgang Tillmans, among others.
