A monograph accompanying the first comprehensive traveling exhibition of furniture and architecture by Jean Prouve, spanning his working life from 1924 through the mid-seventies. The exhibition of approximately 50 pieces of furniture and 10 architectural units is organized around Prouve's own technical and planning-oriented ideas, taken from famous courses he taught at the Paris Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers between 1957 and 1970. This extensively illustrated volume (including almost 1000 black-and-white and color images) provides an overview of the designer's tools, production and collaborative work in his own texts and drawings, and through commentary by 42 other contributors.
