Chaumont 2005

Chaumont 2005

Chaumont pursues its exploration of the stakes of contemporary graphic design: The Festival shows up a large selection of works by the modernist master A.M. Cassandre, the recent creations of french graphic designer Christophe Jacquet dit Toffe and offers the Dutch school WerkplaatsTypografie to invest the Festival. Among the 1800 posters received for the International Poster Competition, which are now part of a collection of more than 20 000 pieces, 100 posters have been selected to be shown in this catalogue. The festival also presents a graphic manipulation of the historical poster collection Dutailly by the young Amsterdam-based designer Harmen Liemburg. The ?À-ce-qu?on-dit?, usual phrases by David Poullard invest and question the public space. This year also has a spotlight feature on Bruno Monguzzi.
