Christopher Doyle R34G38B25

A collection of works and images by Christopher Doyle from textures, colours and complicities on the film Hero. Travelling in the magnificent places in China, like Dun Huang, Jiu Zhai Gou, Heng Dian, he snaps what he can in between shots and scenes, and later turns these snapshots into a collage with his personal touch. The visuals and narrative conveys Chris Doyle's perception on colours and the result is an elegant and experimental combination on film, photography and graphic art. "What classical Chinese call "qing" can be black, blue or green in the modern world. In winter, European women rouge themselves up like a summer holiday. Many Western colourists render our white-skinned beauties far too yellow for our taste. To overcome personal and cultural discrepancies, we often use technical parameter as a point of common reference for the image we seek.
