With Issue #64, Rant, Rudy VanderLans, founder and editor of Emigre, set out to shake things up in the design community by reformatting the venerable magazine/font catalog as a text-only "chapbook" filled with trenchant criticism, mini-manifestoes, and other calls-to-arm to reinvigorate what VanderLans fears has become a complacent, client-driven profession without meaningful self-examination, criticism, and possibly even purpose.
