Netherlands Design Institute debuts its 'Yearbook of the near future' IF/THEN explores the impact of advanced communication technologies on the design of everyday material culture. The largest section is devoted to PLAY, coinciding with the theme of the fifth DOORS OF PERCEPTION conference. Other features address international new media initiatives, including the European Union's Intelligent Information Interfaces research program. Over 40 writers, designers and photographers collaborated to produce 'a book in which science, art and literature melt into each other.'
