There is no debating that Keiichi's work looks as fresh today as it did in the 60's. We are huge fans of his work and are happy to have this book in stock. This book has mature content just so you know before you buy it. Import.
"When I look back along my eventful path, it's clear that the 60's still glare sharply and clearly from the past. All my works, from illustration, graphic design, editorial design to animation, experimental films, painting, printing and three-dimensional works emerged from the 60's and were further developed. For someone who was immature in every way, to rush forward was the only way. So, I kept running, propelled by the energy of the era.
As I mentioned at the outset, most of my works in the 60's, including posters and graphic design, were silkscreen prints. Unlike modern ink that has no life, the ink used in the 60's emitted a unique smell and character throughout the room as soon as a newly printed poster was hung on the wall. Characteristic unevenness and thickness of the ink, traces of manual labor like misalignment and elasticity that makes the surface seem to breathe subtly stimulates the five senses. Of course they cannot be compared to modern prints, but the power that 60's silkscreens exude, seems to me to symbolize the era's energy."
