Featuring twenty-six of the most eminent artists of today, The Run Up, is a visual and historical representation of the contemporary art movement. Directors Shaun Roberts and Joey Garfield filmed the artists in a sequence of vignettes, where each segment reveals the artists visions and the inspirations behind their artwork. According to Roberts, "This film is a platform for artists to display their personal thoughts and creative philosophies." The stylistic choices made during production of this project are representative of the artists story." The Run Up is composed of one-on-one interviews with each artist and depicts their personal journeys in finding their artistic styles as well as creating a space for each of them within the art world.
