Artist Information: An art collective of the future, born out of an assembled group past, and proving that there are five enjoyments or more to exist, Burlesque is equal parts skater, graff writer, record collector, pop culture junkie, fine artist, workhorse, problem solver, and nerd alert. The principal players include Todd Bratrud (Consolidated Skateboards, Flip, Teenage Runaway, Familia), Mike Davis (twelvecarpileup.com, St. Louis' Litterthugz, DJ Mike the 2600 King), Aaron Horkey (Black Osprey Dead Arts Society, Flip, Generica USA), Skye Rossi (Rhymesayers), George R. Thompson IV (Fobia, Iota, RVCA, Lords of Apathy), and Wes Winship (Life Sucks Die Magazine). Their award-winning work can be explored in shops, galleries, and publications worldwide and through the wonders of the internet at burlesquedesign.com and gigposters.com. Burlesque of North America recently received the Print Mafia Awards for Best Poster Artist(s) and for Best Poster of the Year (for Fantomas) at Flatstock 8 in Austin, TX in March 2006 and opened a gallery with fellow poster artists Lonny Unitus and Amy Jo Hendrickson called First Amendment Arts, www.firstamendmentarts.com, in September 2006.
